Try these tour ideas starting & finishing Queenstown

With so much to see and do in Queenstown, its a great place to base yourself for your New Zealand tour.

Known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown is home to many adrenaline inducing activities. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, this alpine town is surrounded by towering mountains. While arguably the brightest gem in New Zealand’s crown, Queenstown offers far more than an action-packed getaway. Spend time on the Gibbston Valley wine trail and end with a meal at one of the many upmarket eateries on offer. See the scenery from a different perspective and catch a ride on the iconic 100 year old steamship the TSS Earnslaw. Wander the lakeshore or venture further afield into Fiordland National Park. Head over the hill to resort town Wanaka, visit historic gold mining settlement Arrowtown, or re-live scenes from Lord of the Rings by four-wheel drive safari. Taking a short drive to Glenorchy to experience horseriding, jet boating and helicopter tours is also not to be missed.
But - if you really do want that rush - head out on the Shotover Jet, dive off the Nevis Bungy, freefall on the Canyon swing or Zip line the Gondola. Just be sure it's done on an empty stomach – don’t say we didn’t warn you!
